Greetings to you all!

It is indeed with great humility, conviction and responsibility, I have accepted your mandate to be the president of our esteemed institution ‘NEEA’. North-east, recently described as the ‘Ashta Lakshmi’ of our country, is a land of rich natural, human, social and cultural resources. The region has its own story of evolution in its development space. NEEA as a professional association, has been at the forefront of examination, contestation, contextualisation and comprehension of this evolution by organising assiduously its annual conferences for the past 24 years. It has also been providing the young research scholars in economics and allied subjects a platform to present their research findings and get mentored by experienced peers. At a time when we are getting ready to organise our 25th annual conference at Assam University, Silchar, let us take a pledge to leverage NEEA as an important effective professional organisation having its critical contribution to the ‘transformative development’ of the ‘Ashta Lakshmi’.
