NEEA has been holding annual conferences from its very inception on various economic issues concerning the North Eastern region of India. The association is also engaged in conducting talks, workshops and seminars on various current issues relevant to the North East. It is also publishing conference volumes and lectures. Following is the list of activities other than annual conferences organized by the Association:-

- "Second Napoleon Hazarika Memorial Lecture" delivered by Dr. R. B. Barman, Executive Director, Reserve Bank of India on Economic Development of Assam and Governance (December30, 2003).
- Symposium on "The Tea Industry Of Assam in the Contemporary Socio-Economic Environment" (February 11, 2004)
- Talk on "Global Networking of Business, Governments and Communities" by Dr. Harry G. Harris, Global Management and Business Consultant, and Varsity Scholar at University of California at Barkley, on April 4, 2004 at IIT Guwahati.
- "Third Napoleon Hazarika Memorial Lecture" delivered by Prof. Gautam Baruah, Director IIT Guwahati, on Information and Communication Technology (December 30, 2004)
- Talk on "Using the Doha Round to Advance the Further Reform of the Indian Economy" by Prof. Geza Feketekuti, a distinguished professor at the Monetary Institute of International Studies, USA, on 24th February, 2005 at IIT Guwahati.
- Collaborated with Economic Study Circle, Rangia College in organising a Seminar (November 2002).
- Collaborated with Sapatgram College in organising a Seminar on Globalisation and the Indian Economy held on November 1, 2003.
- Collaborated with Margherita College in organising the International Seminar on Regional Cooperation held in 18-19 January, 2004.
- Collaborated with OKD Institute of Social Change and Development in organising the first Atul Goswami Memorial Lecture delivered by Prof. Atul Sarma, Vice Chancellor, Arunachal University on "why the Northeastern States Continue to Decelerate" on June 10, 2005 at Guwahati.
- Organised a workshop on "Problems of Credit Delivery and Absorption in the Rural Areas of the North East" with the Department of Humanities and Social Sciences, IIT Guwahati on December 3 & 4, 2004 at IIT Guwahati.
- Collaborated with OKD Institute of Social Change and Development in organising the Atul Goswami Memorial Lecture delivered by Prof.Parth Sen of Delhi School of Economics, University of Delhi, on "Capital Flows to India: Too Much of a Good Thing on June 27, 2007 at Guwahati.
- One day seminar on Participatory Development Strategy in North-East India: Current Status, Problems and Prospects†was held on October 12, 2007 by the IQAC, Margherita College in collaboration with NEEA.
- Collaborated with OKD Institute of Social Change and Development in organising the Atul Goswami Memorial Lecture delivered by Prof. Abhirup Sarkar, Professor of Economics, ISI Kolkata on "Globalization, Inequality and Inflation" on June 4, 2008 at Guwahati.
- Collaborated with DHSK College, Dibrugarh in organizing a UGC sponsored National Workshop on Service Sector Delivery-A Demand Based Approach during December 01-02, 2011
- Collaborated with Rangia College, Assam in organizing a UGC sponsored National Workshop on Inclusive Growth in Local Context during January 20-21, 2012
- Collaborated with B. Borooah College, Guwahati in organizing a UGC sponsored National Seminar on Socio-economic and Institutional Issues in the Utilisation of Water Resources of North East during February 18-19, 2012.
